The Romanian Ministry of Finance prepares a bill which will amend the law on the organization and operation of gambling, so the gamblers can bet online on the companies registered in Romania, too.
Although current legislation does not allows, but does not prevent cross-border games, online gaming organization by the Romanian companies is prohibited.
For the organization of online gaming, companies must pay a fee of 10% of revenue, but not less than ~ 100,000 EUR if the game is bingo or 5% of revenue, but not less than ~ 60,000 EUR if games are fixed odds, betting type. Other types of gambling are taxed at 1.5%, but at least ~ 100,000 EUR.
For gambling to bingo, the prize percentage of total revenue turnover will be 60% at least and a maximum of 80% for each regular game, except for games to be granted special awards where will comply only when the minimum percentage.
In order to take effect, the new rules must be approved by the Romanian Parliament.
